Music Break

6 September 2010

Just passing on some musical ideas to help motivate your musical creativity.
After Hours of searching for sheet music online. I find a large collection of sheet music that appears to be by ear and then transcribed for guitar. All of this sheet music is just readily waiting on websites. But when it comes to sheet music, I have to have paper and I have to have it right in front of me.
After getting frustrated I found a website that specializes in sheet music, Sheetmusicplus.com. They have sheet music for guitar, sheet music for piano and sheet music for three other instrumental categories. I am quite certain the majority of people reading this are looking for sheet music for guitar and sheet music for piano. I myself like to look for classical piano sheet music and transcribe the sheet music for guitar into tablature. That in it’s self is a peaceful conversion. Classical music is a soft sound when it is written to the piano and the sheet music for piano always seems to convert to guitar with super ease.
If you do not have a copy of the music that you are trying to learn and would like to listen to someone else play the music that you are trying to learn, just to hear what the emotion should feel like. There are a few places to listen music online and hear music of all sorts of categories. Start with last.fm. They allow you to listen to specific music online and they even sell legal copies, from classical music, to hip hop music. Pandora radio lets you listen to music online. but it’s kind of random yet awesome for what it is. If you want random musical inspiration, pandora sure is the right place to listen to music online. Pandora also allows you to buy music from their site.

I find it good to listen other types of music than what I have learned to play. To get Christian music, Hip Hop music, Country Music Sheet music  and mp3. To listen to the music. Listen for the change ups, the interludes. There are so many variations in music styles, it could only do you some good to bring in something new to you. Maybe just maybe you can incorporate something that moves you, into what you are playing, and inspire yourself into becoming something new. but for the sake of music, only add small inspirations to tweak your expression. Nothing major. The world can’t handle major changes.

Juliana Richer Daily – Covers

Almost Lover – A fine Frenzy Cover

Truly love that song and have heard a million and one covers of it. If it was not for the next song in the list , would have never heard her cover it.

Fast Car – Tracy Chapman Cover

You Were Meant For Me – Jewel Cover

Take Over The World (original) – Juliana Daily

You can find more music with  Juliana Richer at her website

Found myself quite taken by her voice. Amazed by how she plays the guitar and sings at the same time. Juliana is a very impressive person.  You just have to give her a listen. The music she plays is very soothing and melodic. The vocals never seem to flaw, the guitar never seems to  miss key (fret). Now if we can just keep her from getting the chin strap Harmonica and drum on her back, she will never have to be a one (wo)man band.

Would like to hear  a couple songs from this woman. Just to take her out of the norm and hear her voice out of the whisper zone. Quite sure she can do this.

Rainy Night In Georgia
Okay, have a huge list of songs which all  are good and want to hear some sort of slight variation of them to make them a little better, but really would not want to give this lady a fricken grocery list of music to try.
