Xm Sirius Radio What’s the Value?

Published on 09/17/2010 by in entertainment, music

The car I have, is the first one I ever owned that had Xm-Sirius capability. When I first got the car it came with three free months of both XM-Sirius. After three months I truly can not see the reason that anyone would pay $14 a month for two sets of the same stations.

I have people tell me all the time they pay like $2-$3 a month. I have to call BS on that. They have not yet offered me that deal. I see it nowhere on their site. I do not  see the Xm-Sirius special rate of $3.99 a month, anywhere in my email, my postal mail or on any billboard.

I mean really, do you not think I would have it? Under five bucks a month is pretty good. Under $50 a year is great. For 30 more radio stations xs 2.The value of 30 more stations under 4 buck. i would do it

and that leads me into my rant ….They do not have hundreds of stations. They have stations with hundreds of digits, some stations are on xm like 3 times and again on sirius. but all together you are looking at less than 100 stations (if you count each instance of the same station, across both xm and sirius), there just is not enough enjoyable content to get my $180 a year. Sure they have comedy stations but after two or three days of listening to them just at lunch time at work, you will hear reruns. A couple heavy metal stations that seemed to go into happy fun time hour every month or so. On the plus side, there are some oldies stations. This is good because there are no more of the 50s music stations left in the city I live in. Well unless you HD radio. now that’s free no monthly payments, but you do have to buy the radio. They do make adapters so that you can plug in via Auxiliary. Great concept. i have no idea how good it sounds though.

I am considering going the route of the adapter, but I am certain that in the end i will just buy a new HD radio and hate that I wasted money on the adapter to begin with.

I hate that they put that thing in my car.
