BFE an old bar that was a biker bar in the 80s and 90s, now is a club for local bands. Great club, great conversion and atmosphere.

Not Amongst the Living

What I saw was two young men and a 30 something year old drummer. The bassist played keyboard and bass. The guitarist played really well. the music was deep and full even though they were missing their vocals. Thank god they didn’t fill in the background vocals while he/she was absent. I am kind of thankful they didn’t have a singer at that time, I would hate to hear bad vocals over a great original band.

Next to stage was Sexion 8. They played really well even though you can clearly see the singer had been celebrating his 50th birthday a tad bit early. A few people pointed it out. What ever, he had fun. The singer is from the 80s band “Filthy Rich” and the 90s band Concussion Bleu. The guitarist is from the 90s band concussion bleu and the now growing band  Drakonus. ( I could have misspelled that). Drummer From the 90s band Concussion Bleu and now Drakonus (again, sorry). The bassist is a band called Beaver Crossing.

Together they all play cover tunes at local clubs for fun and for some income while they prep their  other bands for recording and what not. What they do while together is amazing. The band is spot on identical enough to the music they play would flatter the original writers, while the singer sings the songs as only his voice can do. A great compliment to the regular version. The crowd loved them. The tip job (not usually on stage but at BFE it was there) was getting stuffed by people of all ages (because the younger band there where a few younger people there). Their performance was off the charts last night, major props to the band and the sound man.

Next up Was a band called “Straight Shooter”. a Bad Company cover band.

I could not find their link anywhere. I tried for hours. I did however get a bit of footage from their show. Please Pardon the Cell quality

They played a very good show. They worked the crowd like champs who have been doing this for many years. From what everyone was saying there, the bassist is one of the first members of Bad Company. He sure did give off that image. There is also rumor of the guitarist being from another band but I could not catch who he is from.
